First time ever of dog days and first time I've done real calisthenics since football in sixth grade. It was fun. A good atmosphere with cheerful and supportive people. I didn't know some of the exercises so some of it was completely new to me, like the v-crunch. Oh god, the v-crunch. It was all well and good until the run, which I expected to be a couple laps around the track. Instead it was running twice up and down an enormous hill. Enormous as in gargantu-huge-normous. I ended up walking partway up the first time. The second time i did manage a jog the whole way up but it was really pushing it. Next time i have to grab a drink before the run because I had been running dry for quite a while before it even started. After the second time up I had the dry heaves for a few minutes on the way down. I guess that says I pushed my limits, though.

The only part of me that feels strained is my hamstrings and butt. Elsewhere I just have a warmed-up, loose, and well-exercised feeling. Feels good.

All in all a good experience and it feels like a real, positive use of my time: Get in better shape (and if I keep it up at least a couple times a week I'll be in really good shape by the end of summer); maybe meet some people; bond with Nick through shared trauma; The joyous feeling of elitism from doing something a lot of other people aren't doing! Haha, my first go at that sentence said ("elitism from doing someone a lot of other people aren't doing". Freudian slip or honest mistake?).

I'd like to start recording my weight and maybe take a picture each day after I get done. I need to get a quality scale later and do this.
