A colleague asked me the other day about this, and we discovered the debian package is gone. I don't know if this is temporary or permanent. I will update the post with a pointer to this URL to get the debian package I was able to download.

I need to go search Facebook for replies to that thread. Nobody knows about this blog, so nobody else replied. I did buy Flatland, which I intend to read soon.

I read the other 7 books of the Ender series, and they are all good. The main followups like Speaker for the Dead are much different novels with more adult and philosophical story. The Ender character was originally created in a short story specifically to set that book up before it became a full-fledged novella. One of the books is Ender's game told from Bean's viewpoint and adds a lot. The others follow Earth' history following the end of the war as the Battle School kids move into positions of power.

Looks like Wordpress changed my double-dashes to single-dashes, even in your comment. I will edit the original. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thank you for a tip.
For those who are not familiar with the command line:
the following arguments should be written as "--tries --user, --password" (with precending "double dash")

Yeah, I read Ender's last year, literally in one sitting. I could not stop. It was great.

No recommendations come to mind, but I can mention the opposite: I read Wrinkle in Time in 5th grade and again last year (ish). It was really enjoyable until halfway through the book — page 158 if I recall correctly. A character underwent some inexplicable change that completely evaporated my empathy for her. I finished the book, but no longer have fond memories of it.

I look forward to hearing about this list you compile. I too should read the Guide. I had always thought you had read it!
